            Small charge for some visits to cover costs & usually booking is required (priority given to members).

Thursday 25 Feb Warboys Challenge 10:10 Launch Talk by Tom Bragg of Cambridge Carbon Footprint Group. Greener Futures is adopting 10:10. Tom will talk to us about why 10:10 is important and what it can achieve. A sharing of ideas for each of us to take our own action on climate change.
 
Wednesday 24 Mar Environmental Policies of Cambridgeshire County Council Talk by Sandy Shattock Head of Cambs CC Environment, Policy & Projects Unit, Greener Futures work closely with the Hunts District Council team and heard from our MP Shailesh Vara in 2009. Now a chance to see what Cambs CC does towards environmental improvement in the services it provides.
 
Thursday 29 April Visit to Johnson's of Oldhurst - Reducing Food Miles and Knowing Where Your Food Comes From: Evening will include refreshments in their excellent restaurant 'The Eccentric English Gentleman.' Small charge for refreshments. Numbers limited-booking necessary. Travelling in cars. Meet at Library at 6.45pm prompt.
 
Thursday 6 May Visit to Mr Wallace's Fruit Farm at Bluntisham We hope the apple blossom will be out - essential to form the fruit to follow. A chance to learn more in preparation for the Community Orchard which Greener Futures is working to set up. Friday 25 June Guided Walk in Pingle Wood - Leader Paul Bellamy of RSPB Warboys own nature reserve includes the wood and old railway cutting managed by the Wildlife Trust. (Pingle Wood is opposite the entrance to the landfill site along Station Road at Puddock Hill) Take the green route and walk, meet 7.00pm or Car- share leaving Library 6.45 prompt.
 
Thursday 22 July Guided Visit to Ramsey Abbey Walled Kitchen Garden This exiting newly completed project by local trust working with Cambridgeshire Gardens Trust has restored this Victorian garden to its former glory at the time before World War 1. Numbers limited-booking essential. Small charge - travel by car sharing. Leaves Library Car Park 6.30pm prompt.

Thursday 30 Sept Visit to St Ives EcoFit House Hunts DC have converted two 1970s houses to reduce emissions. See the changes and the standards they have been able to achieve. Numbers limited-booking essential. Travel by minibus - small charge. Leaves Library Car Park 6.30pm prompt.

Thursday 28 Oct In Defence of Polythene - talk by John Tudor Do you moan about plastic bags and excessive packaging? Could you manage without it? John will explain the many uses and benefits which polythene brings.
 
Thursday 25 Nov Permaculture-is it the future? Talk by Gordon Landsburgh Permaculture is an alternative to monoculture where different food plants grow together and benefit from neighbouring planting. Gordon has studied Permaculture in Australasia where the ideas originated.
